I picked this set up to add to my blackwater tank, and they are working great. It creates plenty of circulation for the 20G tall tank and looks good in there as well. The mounting brackets are fairly durable and hold the pipes in the desired.position without a problem. The rotatable outlet head makes it easy to point the flow in the direction you need. You will want a long tube brush for the skimmer tube. On a couple of occasions, the skimmer head got sucked down all the way and stuck there. Fortunately I didn't lose any of the Amano Shrimp when that happened. I found an easy solution to the skimmer head getting sucked down too far, and that was to put a zip-tie on the skimmer, at the point that is the minimum level I want it to drop. It has not gotten stuck since. The flow adjustment is nice and easy to access. If you have a top on your tank, you will need to fool with positioning a bit since the adjustment knob extends past the rim of the tank. It still works well. The inflow pipe has some fairly narrow openings that can tend to block up with plant debris. Also, they aren't so narrow that a shrimp couldn't get stuck, so make sure you add a sponge if you have smaller varieties in the tank. In all, this is a great inflow/outflow pipes set with skimmer that looks great and works well. I would happily recommend this set to others.
I wanted to replace the tubes that came with my filter with stainless steel ones, I have a stainless steel heater so I wanted everything to sort of match. Installation is really straight forward, just remove old tube, insert new one into the hose. There are 2 acrylic supports to hold the tubes in place, you can adjust the height on them by turning the included screws. Once everything was ready, I turned my canister on and adjusted the inflow with the adjustment rod to full open, placed the skimmer and it started spinning. Then it was time for the output, which I directed to an opposite side, the tube has a rotating nozzle to direct flow as needed. I got everything ready now and working flawlessly. I'll update this review if I find something worth adding
Really happy with this stainless steel lily pipe set. It feels super sturdy plus, it gives my tank a nice clean, modern look without standing out too much. The flow is just right for my planted tank—gentle enough for the plants and fish, but still keeps the water moving well. Setup was easy, and it’s been running smoothly ever since. If you’re thinking about upgrading, this is definitely worth it!
