I hooked this up to my biocube 14 gallon. I placed the water sensor in chamber 3. The ato works great. It's been hooked up for a few weeks now. No more salinity swings. For the money it is worth it. When I do water changes I just unplug the unit. Then make sure the low water sensor is in the correct position and plug back in. Make sure to hook the water flow valve in the correct position. Install took 10 minutes.
My nano tank loses so much water because the top isn’t covered, and our house is super dry. It’s inconvenient for me to constantly top it off so the water hardness doesn’t go up rapidly. This device provides an excellent way to do this automatically. I tested it a couple of times, and it worked precisely. I like that it’s quiet and powerful at the same time.
I was looking for an ATO for a tank without a sump, this one not only fits but it does not need to be vertical to measure the water, as you can see I have it set horizontally so that the cable does not interfere with the rim. It includes a one wave valve so it does not create a siphon but you can keep the hose out of the water and be safe. Not only that is is completely silent and includes plenty of hose to run from almost anywhere near the tank.
